Features of the Watlow Firerod Cartridge Heater

  • Part temperatures to 1400°F
  • Nickel-chromium resistance wire, precisely wound and centered in the unit, assures even, efficient distribution of heat to the sheath.
  • Magnesium oxide insulation of specific grain and purity, swaged to the proper density, results in high dielectric strength and contributes to faster heat-up.
  • Incoloy sheath resists oxidation and corrosion from many chemicals, heat and atmospheres.
  • Minimal spacing between the element wire and sheath results in lower internal temperature, better heat transfer, giving you the ability to design with fewer or smaller heaters that operate more efficiently.
  • Swaged cartridge tightens the sheath around the MGO insulation and the nichrome element wires for more efficient heat transfer and longer heater life.
  • UL & CSA approved flexible stranded lead wires with silicone-fiberglass oversleeve insulate wires to 480°F.
LA STOCK LEAD ADAPTER METHOD

Watlow’s patented LA--or Lead Adapter--Modification Method allows stock Firerods to be modified from stock with 13 different lead configurations. LA configurations are permanently attached to the heater. Most of these configurations can be ordered with no-heat extensions or optional mounting methods like flanges, threaded fittings, and locating rings. On LA stock, units are shipped either same or next day.
