Glenn Starflex Band Heaters
The Glenn Starflex® Band Heater is an extruded aluminum segmented band employing rugged refractory insulated tubular heating elements. The low expansion clamping band provides snug barrel fit and assures excellent heat transfer through the entire operating temperature range up to maximum heater temperatures of 600°F.

Installation of the Starflex is easily performed by opening the band, placing it around the cylinder and tightening a single screw. Large diameter bands are furnished with multiple clamping assemblies and multiple segments for grasping the surface.

Glenn Starflex Band Heaters are designed for use in barrel heating of extrusion and injection molding machinery, blown film dies and other cylindrical surfaces. Their configuration can be for full 360° coverage or any degree of partial wrap.

Standard widths for the Starflex are 3/4”, 1-1/2”, 2-1/2”, 3” and 4”. The thickness of the bands are 1/2”. The 3/4” and 1-1/2” wide bands come in standard I.D.s from 3-1/2” to 14” with larger sizes available on a custom basis. The 2-1/2”, 3” and 4” wide units come in standard I.D.s from 5” to 14” with larger sizes available on a custom basis. Except for the 3/4” wide Starflex, all units are dual voltage--specify 240/120 or 480/240 volts. Individual terminal boxes are available as an option.
